Children's Robitussin Cough and Chest Congestion DM is a cough medicine for kids that relieves your child’s coughs and the symptoms that often come with them, all in a tasty grape flavor. This Robitussin cough syrup goes down quickly and provides cough and cold relief fast so your family can get on with your day. Give this decongestant to your child every four hours while symptoms persist. Intended for ages four and up, this children's cough medicine requires a different dosage depending on your child's age. Children 4 to under 6 years may take 5 mL every 4 hours, children 6 to under 12 years may take 10 mL every 4 hours and adults and children 12 years and over may take 20 mL every 4 hours, do not take more than 6 doses in any 24-hour measure only with dosing cup provided keep dosing cup with product mL equals milliliter. Children under 4 years do not use. Each dose of this Robitussin DM cough medicine controls and temporarily relieves coughs while also thinning and loosening mucus to provide chest congestion relief. Do not use if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. Ask a doctor before use if you have cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus). Cough that lasts or is chronic such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema. Stop use and ask a doctor if cough lasts more than 7 days, comes back, or is accompanied by fever, rash, or persistent headache. These could be signs of a serious condition. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
