- WHAT IS IN THE JAR: net 45 g in a violet biophotonic UV glass jar. That is the 30 g size plus a further 15 g, already filled into the same jar, so one jar holds 45 g in total, 45 to 90 days at the suggested 500 mg to 1 g a day. The violet glass blocks visible light and the jar is refillable from the pouch sizes.
- THE EXTRACT: 8:1 dual extract of Inonotus obliquus, hot water and ethanol. Polysaccharides 17.38 percent including beta-D-glucans at approximately 15 percent, plus betulin at 0.91 percent and naturally occurring melanin. The ethanol step is what carries the betulin across, which hot water alone cannot. Lab tested per batch for heavy metals. Certificate of analysis available on request.
- THE MUSHROOM: Inonotus obliquus is not a cap mushroom. It forms a hard black conk on living birch in cold climates, and it draws betulin from the bark of the tree it grows on. The Khanty people of Siberia called it the Gift from God and took it as a daily tea. Contains no caffeine.
- HOW TO TAKE IT: start at 500 mg to 1 g a day, a quarter to half a level teaspoon. If it suits you, build up gradually to 2 to 3 g a day, about one level teaspoon. Stir into warm water, coffee, tea, broth or any beverage. It dissolves without clumping if you make a paste with a little liquid first.
